On behalf of the Belgian Business Council, The Belgian Embassy U.A.E and the Ismaili Center, members of the Benelux Business Council are invited to attend: “Florilege”, A flute & Piano Concert by Belgian Flutist Christian Plouvier and Belgian Pianist Aveline Gram.

Christian Pluvier

Widely regarded as one of the world’s top flutists, Christian Plouvier was born in Antwerp, Belgium. After graduating at the Royal Conservatory of Music in his hometown, he went to Jean-Pierre Rampal to specialize in the French Flute tradition. In addition to performing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (Antwerp), the Opera Orchestra and the National Orchestra of Belgium, he is performing and recording regularly as an orchestral player and soloist with several orchestras.Apart from performing,

Christian Plouvier enjoys a successful teaching career, traveling worldwide to give master classes and seminars with a focus on Asia (China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea). In 2005 he founded his own recording company in Tokyo, Laura-chan Records, releasing several CD, amongst others“Flutissimo”, “Beyond Borders”, with the American pianist/composer Bruce Stark, “Symbiophony” with harpist Mieko Inoueand “Romantic Flute sonatas” with the British pianist Margeret Ozanne. Since his arrival the Emirates he joined the National Symphonic Orchestra Abu Dhabi as Principal flutist. Christian Plouvier is proud to be a Miyazawa Flute Performing Artist.

Aveline Gram

At the age of 16, she was accepted at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels under the status of ‘Young Talent’, where she entered the classes of Mr. Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden. Aveline also attended several master classes with world-renowned professors.She performed in di erent countries in Europe and played as a soloist with orchestras. She performed pianoconcertos composed by Rachmaninov, Mozart, Prokofiev, Chopin, ... In January 2010 she was chosen by “The Bayard Partnership” astheir “Young Belgian Talent” and was sponsored and supported by them for a period of 3 years. In September 2010, Avelinewas nominated as the “Pianist of the year” by the International Chopin Foundation and in February 2011 she won the 2nd prize of the Excellentia competition. In 2011, Aveline was accepted in the “Scuola di Musica di Fiesole” (Italy) where she followed a 3- years postgraduate course with Prof. Elisso Virssaladze and graduated with success in 2014. In September 2013, Aveline started a Master diploma of Chamber Music at the ‘Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel’ that she continued from September 2014 on at the “Hochschulefür Musik, Theater und Medien” in Hannover (Germany) with Prof. Markus Becker. She finished this Master Chamber Music‘with great distinction’ in June 2015.

After that, Aveline studied – also in Hannover – a third Master Diploma in Lied Gestaltung (Song interpretation) under the tutor of Prof. Jan Philip Schulze. In October 2016, Aveline decided to broaden her horizon, and started a solo backpacking world trip. She booked a one-way flight and has been travelling through India, South East Asia, the Middle East and Africa. In India, she played a 6-week concert tour with 8 concerts and masterclasses. At the time, Aveline is living in Dubai (UAE), while continuing to expand her career across the Middle East and Africa.
